MARSHALL, BOWMAN: My great-grandfather, Calvin Marshall was born in Carroll Co., VA in 1861. He married a second time to a woman named Willie, whose surname is in question, perhaps Camel/Campbell, but another source says it may have been Wright. Willie and Calvin only had one ot two children who lived to adulthood. Their son, William, married a woman named Phoebe. Again, conflicting information says that another cousin, George Calvin Marshall, a veteran of WWII, was either the child of Calvin and Willie or the child of William and Phoebe. Grandpa Calvin died on his ranch in the Altus area in the late 1930's and was buried in Paris, TX. Any information on Calvin, Willie, William, Phoebe or George Calvin Marshall would be appreciated.

He was half Cherokee. They had children; John Silas, William Oliver, Charles Richard, Nancy Almetty, Herman Benjamin (my grandfather), and Minnie Ann. Herman Benjamin was born in 1891 and died in 1942. He marr. Minnie Belle Stites, who I also believe might have Choctaw and/or Cherokee ancestry. Their child was my father, Willard LeRoy born 2 May 1915 and died 1 Jan 1994. I am very proud of what little Choctaw and Cherokee heritage I have, and am trying to find someone who is searching the same ancestry. We have very little beyond this as my grandfather did not speak of his family. I received this information in 1967 from Nancy Almetty Teague Brown. I also have been told that every Teague family had one daughter named Nancy.

WRIGHT, HARRIS, REEVELY: - Looking for information on William Melvin Wright family found in Stephens Co., OK on 1910 census. Wife Susie Maris Harris 21, sons, Buford Leroy 5 and Valta 1. William purported to be born in Brown Co., TX in May, 1876. Susie Marie from Pooleville, Carter Co., OK, probably born in Fannin Co., TX 9 May 1889. There appears to be two Wright families from Brown Co., TX with sons named William born about 1876-1878. One is the Thomas D. Wright/Mary Jane Reevely family (born TN) and the other is Adam Mitchell Wright/Joshephine ? family (born prob MS, raised AR). 1910 census shows William's parents were born in TN. From my family records it appears that there are Wright cousins still in the Stephens Co. area. Does anyone know from where and from which family my grandfather, William M. Wright descended?
