GALLAGER, LOWRY - Seeking death date of Lawrence E. (Larry) Gallagher born Jan 1845 in Pennsylvania, died 1910-30 in Comanche County, thought to be buried in Highland Cemetery, Lawton. His wife was Mary Louise (Lide) Stepp Gallagher, born Feb 1854 in Illinois, died 14 Mar 1939, buried in Highland Cemetery, Lawton. Her sister was Lucy Jane Stepp Lowry, born 28 March 1850, died 11 May 1942, Comanche or Cotton County, buried Highland Cemetery, Lawton. Lucy’s husband was William Charles Lowry, born June 1849 in Illinois, died 28 June 1926, Lawton, buried Highland Cemetery, Lawton. All are found in US Census 1910 in Comanche County and the two sisters are found in the 1930 Census. Cannot find any of the four in the 1920 US Census—possibly in the same household in Comanche County.

BURGESS, BACCHUS, WHITE - Winfield Scott Burgess was born in 1852 in Putnam Co., TN. He married Martha Ann Bacchus who was born in 1851. They settled in Johnson Co., AR. Who and when did their daughter, Susie Vandella, marry? Their daughter, Lillie Minerva, married Henry A. White and had four children, a son and three named Virnie, Jettie and Nonie. Are these three boys or girls? All four children and Lillie died between 1908 and 1911. None of the children were older than 8.

with dau. Henrietta (1869-1945) ATHERTON, wife of James ATHERTON (1861-1935). Another GREENWELL daughter was Emma GREENWELL (1860-1901), wife of Henry A. BELL who resided near Ripley, Payne Co. OK. A 3rd sibling is Mansella GREENWELL (b. 1864). md. Adam TANKSLEY of Chandler, Lincoln Co. OK in 1901.

THOMASON, CARPER - Looking for information on Robert F. Thomason b 1849 Carroll Co., TN and died after 1920 at Ardmore, Carter Co., OK. He was one of 13 children born to Richard (b 1800 Spartanburg Co., SC) and Nancy (b 1817 KY) Thomason. Robert married Janie Carper in 1888. She died in Ardmore and is buried in the Ardmore cemetery with some of their children, but do not know where he is buried.

THOMPSON, TRIEBERT - Seek date and place of burial for Franklin Thompson born 1862 in Morgan Co., IL. He married Anna Triebert in 1891 in Cass Co., IL. According to a newspaper item he was living at Wagoner Co., OK in 1908, but is not listed in the 1910 Oklahoma census. Known children are Verdie, Lloyd and Ruth.

POLK, KINNEY, HARRIS, SAUNDERS, TILLEY - My grandfather, Oscar Polk, Chickasaw Roll #4119, was born in 1902. His father was Henry J. Polk and his mother was Amanda Agnes Kinney. Amanda's mother was a Harris, and I believe a daughter of Cyrus Harris. I believe they lived in the Davis and Sulphur, Murray Co., area. Oscar married La Veta Grace Saunders born in 1902. She lived in the Davis, Sulphur, Ardmore area. Her mother was Sarah Tilley and her faher was Ilas W. Saunders. Any information on these families would be appreciated.

JOHNSTON, REECE - I am searching for descendants or any one having knowledge of James Wesley Johnston born ca 1857 in Tishomingo (now Alcorn) Co., MS, about five miles south of Corinth. He was the son of William Anderson Johnston and Jenetta Jane Reece Johnston. He had six brothers and two sisters. Sarah Elizabeth died near Davis, Okla., Moses Marion "Pony" died in McClain Co., Okla., Samuel David, Sr. died in Texas, but lived and is buried in Beaver, Okla., John Lafayette lived in Oklahoma and Texas and may have died in Oklahoma while on a visit. What happened to James Wesley and his descendants?

SATTERWHITE COMMUNITY, OK - Can anyone give me information on an Oklahoma community called Satterwhite (Sattlerwhite)? I went there with my father as a child to the cemetery to try to find my great-grandma's grave. The cemetery was uncared for, overgrown with weeds, trees, etc., and was almost hidden. I remember a resident who lived close by stated that the church that took care of the cemetery and that had the records had burned down years ago. I'm hoping to find someone who might know of or have records for the cemetery. Most of the graves were's marked. We did find my great-granama's stone, but her father, etc., may also be buried there. I believe the community was out near the Ada area somwhere, but I'm not sure since I was so young. Please help!!

RAYMER, GRAY, WYNN, GIBSON, HENDERSON - Benjamin Burris Raymer b abt 1833 PA marr. Phoebe May Gray b abt 1840 Ft. Smith, AR. They had seven children, at least four of whom lived: Maggie Buelah b abt 1862 TX marr. George Washington Wynn b abt 1853 TX;????; Sarah Virginia b 1877 Wise Co., TX; Phillip Gaston b 1879 Wise Co., TX. Benjamin was a physician/farmer in Wise Co. I don't know if he and Phoebe died in TX or OK.
Maggie and George Wynn had at least six children; Benjamin Harrison b 1883 Wise Co., TX; Floyd; Neva Amanda (not sure if she is a Wynn); ????; Roy?; Mary Ina b 1896 Wise Co., TX.
In Wise County I found delayed birth certs. for Mary Ina Wynn, Sarah Virginia Raymer and Phillip Gaston Raymer. Neva Amanda Gibson signed an affidavid for all three, and is listed as an aunt on Mary Ina's. She signed three ways, Mrs. Amanda Gibson, Mrs. H.M. Gibson and Neva A. Gibson, with an address in Okla. City. The History of Wise County lists a Dr. Gibson and a Dr. Raimer who practiced there. Did Neva Amanda marry Dr. Gibson or one of his sons or brothers and was her maiden name Wynn or Raymer?
George and Maggie Wynn moved to around Marlow, Stephens Co., OK where he farmed. J.W. and Emaline? Henderson also moved to the Rush Springs, Grady Co., OK area. J.W. and Emaline had at least five children: Nora Emalina; Josie; Hugh; Ola; and Evie. Ola marr. Floyd Wynn and they had one son, Earl b 1914, before they divorced. Nora marr. Benjamin Wynn and had at least two children that lived, my grandfather, Benjamin Harlin b 1915 Rush Springs, d 1947 Wink, Winkler Co., TX; and Rolla, Raleigh or Rollie b 1908? marr. Nita? Nita had two children from a previous marriage and she and Rollie had two children.
After Benjamin Harrison died in Texas, his widow and children stayed there and lost touch with his family in Oklahoma. I just recently found out about them and would like to contact any of their descendants.

STEWART, HUDSON, HENAGER, MORGAN, BROCK, FARMER, TRENT - Who were the parents of William Thomas/Thompson Stewart born 29 Aug 1869 Madison?, TX and died 7 Feb 1942 Pauls Valley, Garvin Co., OK? Were they D.T. Stewart and Mary Hudson? William married Kittie B. Henager 12 Mar 1899 in McKinney, Collin Co., TX. Two known brothers were Ellie and D.E. In a photo with these two are also a Walker M. Morgan, Ernest Brock and Clyde P. Farmer. A Stewart-Henatger reunion is held every June and we would welcome "lost" family members. LUCAS, WHALEY, DAVENPORT, OWENS - Who was Charlotte Owens Lucas? Where was she born and when did she die? She was listed as the mother of Nancy Ellen Lucas Whaley in Nancy's 1896 obituary in Newburg, (now Atwood, Hughes Co.) Indian Territory. Nancy Ellen Lucas, born 1865 and died 1896, was the wife of Thomas H. Whaley, born 1863 and died 1939. He was a U.S. Deputy Marshal in Indian Territory and was living in Thackerville, Chickasaw Nation, in 1884 before moving to Newburg. Nancy Ellen's brother, James Oliver Lucas, born 1862 and died 1926, married Mozella Davenport, born 1864 and died 1921, in 1877/78 (?). Their daughter, Beula Lucas, born 1895 and died 1932, married Harve H. Whaley, born 1889 and died 1949, about 1914. Harve was the son of Thomas and Nancy Ellen. Beula and Harve were my maternal grandparents. Any information on any of these people or their descendants, or their lives would be appreciated.

His brother is Elihu Nicholson, born 1806 in OH., married Leafy _______. A sister, Nancy, born 1812 in OH, married Samuel Ferguson bef 1833. Between 1833 and 1835, they moved to IN. Searching for the parents of David, Elihu and Nancy, and Elihu's full birth date and place. Could their mother's name have been Matilda Thomas?

She was born 16 May 1781 in MD and died 21 Jul 1858, Union Co., IN. Dempsy is on the voter list in Dearborn Co., IN in 1812 and he got Federal land there in 1815. Where were Dempsy and nancy married and where were they born in MD? Who were Nancy's parents and siblings?

KENT, WINTON, SHELTON, MAJORS?, NABORS? - Henry T. Kent was born Jan. 1839 in GA. There is a Henry Kent age 12 on the 1850 Cobb Co., GA census with William H. Kent 66, Martha 40, William R. 18, Jackson 16, Francis 14, John H. 9, Sarah 7, Martha 5 and Mary 1. Is this the same Henry Kent and is William H. his father and is Martha his mother? He married Mahala ______ about 1860/61. She was born abt 1841 in SC. They are on the 1860 Cobb Co., GA census with children James and Martha. About 1865 the family moved to AL where Lydia and Mahala were born, then to Lincoln Co., TN where Mary and Louisa were born. The family then moved to Polk Co., AR. Mahala died either in TN or AR. Henry married 2nd Matilda Winton. They had Sarah, Nancy, Henrietta and Roberta, all born in Polk Co., AR. He married 3rd Rebecca Shelton and they had Lily. Henry died in 1906 in Polk Co., AR. What was Mahala's maiden name? Could it have been Majors or Nabors/Neighbors? I would like to correspond with anyone who has knowledge of this family.

EDWARDS, BERNS, CONWAY - My great-grandfather, John Jackson Edwards was born in MS and died in Oklahoma Indian Territory. He was an Indian Marshall in I.T. in the mid to late 1800's. This was the name he took when he arrived in I.T. Family history says he was originally chief Muishalatubbe of the Mississippi Choctaws, and that on the Trail of Tears, he took the name Lost Spirit. His daughter, my grandmother, was Madeline Edwards, who married Charlie Berns (name change to Conway). My father, Murvin Ira Conway, was born in Eufaula, McIntosh Co., OK on Oct. 1, 1911. I am desperately looking for information on this family. I would particularly like to know who my great-grandmother was.

BERNS, CONWAY, EDWARDS - Charlie Berns was born in Oklahoma Indian Territory or MS. He married Madeline Edwards, born in either MS or I.T., in the late 1800's. He changed his name to Charlie Berns Conway while living in Fort Collins, CO, sometime before 1910. He died in CO and is buried there, maybe in Fort Collins. My grandparents gave birth to 18 children all together. The only known ones are: Everett, Cecil, Carl, Willie, Alice (Madeline), Ethel and my father, Murvin Ira Conway, born in Eufaula, McIntosh Co., OK on Oct. 1, 1911. There are supposed to be 3 or 4 other siblings who settled around Conway, AR. Any records regarding the Berns or Edwards side of the family would be appreciated.

BOLES, HARDIN - Who are the parents of Ace C. BOLES b 1841 AL? He
married 1st Josephine --- in TX. She died in 1879 in
Navarro Co., TX. They had children: Dewitt b 1869; Lula b
1872; Allen b 1874; Callie b 1875; and Susan b 1878. He
married 2nd 1883 Henderson Co., TX Lucy HARDIN. They had
children: Two not named; Pearlie b 1885; Coxtain b 1887;
Shuley b 1890; John E. b 1891; and Ruth b 1893.
The family is in Navarro Co. in 1880 and 1900. Ace says
his parents are also born in AL. I do not find Ace or Lucy
after 1900. Dewitt is in Franklin Co., TX in 1910.
I have looked at the Boles in AL and TX in 1850 and do
not find a family that fits. I also do not find him on the
1870 census. He was married and had one child so should be
the head of a household.

EVANS, EDMONDSON, DICKESON, JACKSON, HOWERTER, WALTERS - Almira Evans was born in 1840 at Terra Haute, Vigo co., IN. She married James Calvin Edmondson in 1856 in Fulton Co., IL. The family is in Fulton Co. in 1850 with the mother, Elizabeth as head of household. An obit for her sister, Mary Jane Jackson (Mrs. John M.), in McDonough Co., IL in 1914 says she was born at Danville, Vermillion Co., IL. The other children in the family are: Benjamin b 1830 IL, James b 1832 IL, Elizabeth b 1834 IL, Sarah b 1839 Vermillion, IL m. 2nd Peter Harrison Howerter and Angeline b 1845 IN m. William Humphrey Walters. The death cert. for Almira says her mother was Elizabeth Dickeson and does not give her father's first name. Who was Almira's father? He was born in OH according to what she told the census taker.

McGREGOR/MacGREGOR, JOHNSON, WARREN - I am trying to locate further records of my great-grandparents and descendants. Alexandra MacGregor/McGregor was born Feb. 22, 1829 in Cardington, OH and died in 1904. He married India Johnson who was born in May 1840 in Mercer Co., IL and died in 1913. Their youngest daughter, Mildred, was born in St. Jose, TX on Apr. 10, 1882 and died June 21, 1961 in Phoenix, AZ. She married John Sutcliffe Warren and moved to Tulsa, OK. Alexandra and family went on the Oklahoma Land Run in 1891 and settled in or near El Reno, OK.
