LEE FAMILY BIBLE

This bible record was furnished by Norma (LEE) LAUER, Granite, OK. E-mail: mnlauer@swoi.net. Christopher Columbus Lee and Leoona (Williams) Lee came from Barbour Co., AL, and homesteaded land in 1898 in Greer Co., OK, north of Granite. Christopher Columbus Lee was born January 26, 1844, and died in November, 1928. Leona Williams was born March 26, 1846 and died April 28, 1933. They married July 9, 1871 in Barbour Co., AL. As a young man he fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. They were both teachers in Alabama, and he also farmed and was a Methodist preacher, and at one time was a member of the Alabama State Legislature.

SHAW FAMILY BIBLE

This bible record is owned by our society and was donated by Mr. Albert R. HAVLIK. There are several receipts and miscellaneous papers, also two pictures. There is a post card to Colin C. Shaw and Mrs. Sara C. Shaw, Manchester, N.C., stating Mrs. Sara C. Shaw died on Nov. 1, 1938.

In 1976 this family bible was owned by Willa Dene SCEARCE PACE of Tahlequah, OK. She is a great granddaughter of Martha J. LOGAN who married Washington Kennedy PENN May 20, 1860 in Bourbon Co., KY and migrated to Sherman, TX in 1877 or 1878.
