Andrew Shoun and Betsy Powell

Andrew Shoun (1797-1879), the fifth born of seventeen children to Leonard Shoun and Barbara Virginia Slemp, married Elizabeth "Betsy" Powell (1797-1866) in 1817. We are not completely sure of the date or the place of marriage. To this union were born eleven children.

Andy and Betsy had a farm on Doe Creek, just below his brother, John S. Shoun, and about five miles west of Mountain City, Johnson County, Tennessee.
