Thomas H. Johnson, Jr. and Delilah Wilson

Thomas H. Johnson, Jr., (July, 1794-3 September, 1872) was the fourth born to the marriage of Thomas H. Johnson, Sr. and Fanny Dickenson Scott Johnson. We believe that Thomas, Jr., was born in Russell County, Virginia. Thomas, Jr., married Delilah Wilson (12 January 1795-24 March 1879) on 16 October 1817, in Carter County, Tennessee. In the marriage records, her name is spelled Delila. We have Delilah's ancestors back to John Wilson, Sr., who was born in England circa 1603. The Wilson's settled in Henrico County, Virginia, (then called Chesterfield County) and remained there through three generations. John Wilson, Sr. (c. 1730) and his wife, Ann Luck, and their twelve children moved west and settled in what was the Johnson County portion of Carter County, Tennessee. Delilah's father was William Wilson (1760-1847) and Delilah was born in Louisa County, Virginia, but moved west with her father to Johnson County.

Thomas and Delilah settled in the Mountain City, Tennessee area, on the Laurel, where his father and his third wife were living. To this marriage were born ten children, three of whom died young.
