Mary Johnson (1788- ?) was the first born to Thomas H. Johnson and Fanny Dickenson Scott Johnson. Mary married Benjamin Sewell of Russell County, Virginia, which is now Lee County, Virginia. This family moved to Claiborne County, Tennessee some time during their marriage, where eight children were born. We understand that this marriage ended in a divorce.
We have only partial information on one of their children, who are listed below:
(1) Thomas Sewell
(2) Susanna W. Sewell
(3) Elizabeth D. Sewell
(1805-1884)
Henry Dickenson Burdine (1 ch)
(4) Matilda Sewell
(5) Benjamin Sewell, Jr.
(6) William Sewell
(7) Malinda A. Sewell
(8) John Henry Harmon Sewell
We are not sure of the correct name for the last child. Due to the divorce, it is possible that Mary could have married a person by the name of Harmon, thus the name John Henry Harmon. However, we are showing him as a Sewell.
