Brief Church Mission Statement: We believe the church is the body of Christ and the members of the church are His disciples. It is our purpose to provide opportunities for fellowship, worship, and service; to motivate all who seek the kingdom of God to use their talents and abilities to help bring people to Christ in a loving, caring family environment, and to witness to the Lawton community.

What We Believe

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved. Romans 10:9 -10

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

We Believe -

We believe in the historic and orthodox Christian faith as expressed in the Nicene and Apostles' Creeds.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Nicene Creed

I believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of
all things visible and invisible:

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made;
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary,
and was made man, and crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried, and the third day He rose again
according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of the Father;
And He shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead;
Whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one catholic and apostolic church; I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Participation in the Sacrament of Holy Communion

The Presbyterian Church (USA) practices open communion. It is the Lord's Table. He invites all who trust in Him to come and share the meal. Thus the Table is open to all people who profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (and to their baptized but unconfirmed children according to the parents' desires) regardless of denomination affiliation.

The Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (USA) states:

"The invitation to the Lord's Supper is extended to all who have been baptized, remembering that access to the Table is not a right conferred upon the worthy, but a privilege given to the undeserving who come in faith, repentance, and love. In preparing to receive Christ in the Sacrament, the believer is to confess sin and brokenness, to seek reconciliation with God and neighbor, and to trust in Jesus Christ for cleansing and renewal. Even one who doubts or whose trust is wavering may come to the Table in order to be assured of God's love and grace in Christ Jesus."

Therefore, we invite all baptized believers to join with us in celebrating the Sacrament.
